To put it simply, I love my dog – he is part of my family.
He is a social lab mix. I have tried to take him to dog parks but he has been attacked on different occasions. I also felt really bad when I would go on vacation and have to leave him in a boarding facility.
Despite the hour+ distance one way, I decided to check into a place called Critter Sitter. I called and scheduled a consultation for Buddy and I to go visit. I told the owner, Amy of my concern that Buddy gets beat up and she reassured me that he would be all right. We went and Buddy had a BALL!
Since that visit, I would not leave Buddy anywhere else. It is like a Doggie 5 Star Resort. Buddy gets happy when I tell him we are going. The property is dog heaven. Dogs are able to go for several walks (on leash) daily on beautiful wooded trails. There is also play time and time for individuals to do what they love – for Buddy it was chasing balls. Buddy was brushed daily and even enjoyed massages. They are also given plenty of rest time. All of this and it is comparable to what I would pay for traditional boarding.
There are never more than 2 dogs and they are all evaluated by Amy and she is the one taking care of them. She has zero tolerance for counterproductive punishment techniques – there is no hitting or use of things like choke collars.
When Buddy is there he is loved and well taken care of. I know that he is having a great time which lets me have a great vacation not worrying about him!
